Well, my contemplating has ended with a decision - to go ahead and move things over to another location and more standard blogging platform.
I've loved the community here at LifewithChrist, but many that I started blogging with have moved on, for various reasons. And it's time for me to move on now too...
So, if you've ended up here, you'll want to visit the NEW location:
It's OK to be WEIRD!
Same name, same content (mostly), new spot! Update your bookmarks, please!!!!
Come visit me at the new blog!!!

I've been looking around the web a bit, wanting to make things at both of my blogs a little more standard and easier to use. My comments here don't have the ability to subscribe, and things like trackbacks and SEO are kinda tricky here. That is probably going to mean going to a Blogger or WordPress blog.
The 2 biggest issues I have found, so far, are: 1) migrating my stuff to a new place (redirecting traffic and stuff) and 2) finding unique blog templates suitable to my themes.
I had considered having someone design my blog template for me - my preferred designer, Diana, is going on holiday until August with 3 jobs already in line for when she gets back. I'm not sure I want to wait that long.
I have also seriously considered trying to design my own template. I'm creative and at least a little computer saavy. I have fiddled with the CSS on my 2 blogs to make them what they are today, so I do know a tiny bit about that kind of stuff.
Any tips on that? Should I even try, or just leave it to the 'professionals'?
It's not an easy decision, and it's kinda been bugging me the last few days. I've got to get some direction shortly so I can move on in one way or another.
I'll keep you posted on what all that is going to look like.

Last week my daughter had a talent show at school. She had her song all picked out to sing (her most recent favorite Taylor Swift song,"You Belong With Me") and she needed a costume. In the album insert, the photo behind the lyrics for this song has Taylor dressed in a Marching Band uniform sitting on the gym bleachers - to go along with the lyrics, "She wears high heels, I wear sneakers, she's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers."
So, Marching Band uniform was the request.
Normally I would have made her a costume myself, but I didn't have much time, with the other things going on in the schedule already. And by the time I gathered all the supplies, I figured it would be maybe just the same cost as renting a costume anyway. Thus began the search.
Do you know how hard it is to find costumes in May? Nobody is even thinking about costumes in May! There is apparently no costume rental shop locally either. So, I checked the thrift stores.
